ARDA Offers Critical Illness Insurance to Members

Washington, D.C.—The American Resort Development Association (ARDA) has contracted with Financial Independence Company Insurance Services (FICIS) to provide critical illness insurance to ARDA members and their employees.

This exclusive benefit provides a lump sum payment upon diagnosis of a covered critical illness or condition. This insurance policy allows covered members to choose their own medical treatment and providers and also serves as a term life insurance policy. No medical exam is required and spouses and children also may be enrolled.

“We hope that no ARDA member or employee will ever face the threat of economic hardship due to a medical crisis, but this new offering tracks perfectly with the present and future needs of our members, should the unthinkable happen,” said Sandra Woolard, ARDA’s vice president of member services.

A covered member diagnosed with a critical illness or condition, such as heart attack, stroke, cancer, kidney failure, paralysis, organ transplant, terminal illness, blindness or death by any cause, will receive a lump sum cash payout.

“Critical illness coverage is probably the insurance industry’s most innovative new product in the last 20 years,” said Sheila Hartman, president of FICIS. “We are proud to offer this benefit to employees at no cost to the employer.”

The program will be officially introduced at the ARDA Leadership Summit, November 20-22, at the Washington Monarch Hotel in Washington, D.C.
